How long have you been CrossFitting? 6 Months (not long enough)
What is your favorite WOD/Exercise? Snatch/Clean/Dead Lift/Squat/Wall balls (can we put that all into 1 WOD?) – hell I even love burpees…doesn’t mean I can do loads…and learning to love being able to pull up my own body weight!
What is your least favorite WOD/Exercise? Double unders !!!!

What is your previous workout/athletic background? Played rugby most of my life…since 4/5 years old, gym from when I was 18/19
What was your first experience of CrossFit like? Was intimidating and frustrating that I couldn’t do ‘simple’ things and movements, but learnt fast!
What results have you seen since CrossFitting? Dropped some fat, gained some muscle…can do pull-ups! starting to gain a good level of intensity at workouts
What’s your favorite aspect about working out at CrossFit Cayman? Is there anywhere else to workout ?? don’t think I’ll ever go back to a gym…more likely to buy a rack and a few barbells from Rogue Fitness and work out in my house!!

What advice do you have for someone thinking about joining CrossFit Cayman? Crossfit has opened a new door of fitness for me, I am very competitive and cant really play the high impact sports I love so much, so now I get that all from crossfit. Kinda like a team down there in that everyone helps you during your workouts and you can push yourself to new levels with that support.

  2. Ash Says:

    Max 115 for 2. Got 1 at 120 lbs. PR. :-)

  3. Krista Says:

Wicked props to Ash who completely pushed through the 120…proud to have spotted it:)

    85 lb. Got 1 at 90 lbs.
Really disappointed as would have expected much more. I hate that I have been injured.
    Grumpy face:(

  4. Tim Says:

205 lbs. Not really sure what my previous max was, but this was a big PR!

Posted this comment for yesterday; thought
it worthy of repeat before the wkend!

I think we all really have to
    fight for depth on squats
    Me included
    It makes a huge difference
    1. because they harder
    2. because they are safer
    3. because they make you stronger
    4. because when you are strict with them,
they’ll actually end up being easier than
‘cheats’, because you’re using stronger muscles
and no longer loading on your toes, knees,
    lower back.
Be hard on yourself with them and you’ll
find that going deeper, will actually increase speed over time. Plus you’ll start to row a hell
of a lot faster. Anyway, food for thought

Dear Crossfit Cayman…i seem to be unable to walk today (maybe due to the squats from yesterday…i’m not sure) and might not make the session later…

  7. Jason Says:

Got to 220pounds…which is a massive PR for me – last time i benched (last year) I could maybe do 175 twice…
    And then I got a 1 rep max of 235 :)
    Burger time!!!

  8. Colin M Says:

James: Agreed on that point. It’s especially hard to focus on good form when the weight gets heavy and it’s well into the workout, but we’re only cheating ourselves when we cut the movement short. I know I missed a few yesterday :) .

    Max: 135(2), 140(1)

About my body weight when I started Crossfit, if that counts for anything :) .

  9. Matt Says:

    275

  10. James M Says:

    215 pounds
    very happy with that as
felt I made it without risking
    my shoulder.
I missed a couple too Colin.
    And I’m at least 70 pounds heavier….
