The 2012 Happier, Healthier You Challenge

With every New Year there are endless resolutions made, but few fulfilled. It can be difficult to find the momentum to get started and the commitment to be consistent.

Whether you are looking to lean out, get stronger or just want to up your game – The 2012 Happier Healthier You Challenge will help you reach your goals in a team setting and with the chance to win some pretty cool prizes!

OVERVIEW:

The challenge will run from January 28th-March 3rd.

We will kick off the challenge on Saturday, January 28th at 10:00.  Participants will be assigned to a team with a Team Captain. All participants will be weighed, measured and put through the HHY Challenge WOD.

Over the course of 5 weeks, every participant will have a chance to earn points to contribute to their team’s overall score.  At the end of the challenge the team with the most points wins. So, how do you earn points?

Challenge WOD:
Points will be given for improvements in performance
Nutrition:
+1 point for every Paleo meal and snack (max 3 meals and 2 snacks)
+1 point for drinking 64oz of water (+1/day)
+1 point for taking your fish oil (+1/day)
Exercise:
+1 point for every group training you attend (max 5/week)
+1 point for 10-15 minutes spent on mobility and stretching (+1/day)
Sleep:
+1 for getting 7-8 hours a sleep each night
Deductions:
-1 per alcoholic beverage
-1 per cheat meal
-1 per soda

Bonus points can be earned for attending workshops held throughout the challenge, bringing a friend to CrossFit and posting your workouts on Beyond the Whiteboard.

Throughout the challenge we will offer various workshops to help you with your nutrition and improve yours skills (Olympic lifting, rowing, kipping pull-ups). 

On March 3rd all participants will be retested in the Challenge WOD.  Final team scores will be tallied and the winning team will be announced at a celebratory gathering held that evening.

PRIZES:

First place:
A Paleo dinner for you and your team and a 60 minute one-on-one session for each team member with a CF Cayman Coach of your choice.
Runner up:
A copy of the Paleo Comfort Cookbook and a Paleo gift pack for each team member.

So, what now? Just say yes! The cost to participate is $35/person. In return you will see great results, have a TON of fun, get a snazzy 2012 HHY Challenge t-shirt and a shot at being the winning team. Registration opens today, Wednesday January 11th and closes Monday 23rd.

Workout of the Day:

With a continuously running clock do one pull-up on the first minute, two pull-ups the second minute, three pull-ups the third minute…continuing as long as you are able.
Use as many sets each minute as needed.
