Tarasa Barnett
Tarasa is the co-founder of CrossFit Cayman. Growing up she was involved in many sports, but volleyball was her true passion. She played indoor volleyball through high school and college. Once moving to Grand Cayman, she began playing competitive beach volleyball. Tarasa also competed in CrossFit. She represented Latin America at the Reebok CrossFit Games as a team competitor in 2010 and as an individual female competitor in 2011 and 2012. She is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and has been a certified trainer for over 15 years.
Matthew Barnett
Matt is the owner and co-founder of CrossFit Cayman. He has been active in sports and weight lifting from a young age. Baseball was always his primary sport. He played baseball through high school, community college, and university. He competed in the 2001 NAIA World Series and was also an honorable mention to the All-American team. He broke many records while playing at College including RBI and home run records. Matt has competed in the CrossFit Games as both a team competitor in 2010 and individual competitor in 2011.
Nathan Herrera
Nathan grew up playing baseball until he found skateboarding and was competitive earning the number 1 spot in Florida in his age division in his final year of competition. He has been crossfitting for over four years, starting in a garage and a globo gym with his brother Matt and some friends. He began coaching under the tutelage of Keith Wittenstein at CrossFit Virtuosity in NYC. Nathan is also a professional flamenco guitarist and tries to go surfing as much as possible!
