How long have you been CrossFitting?

Started about 6 years ago.

What is your favorite WOD/Exercise?

Fight gone bad style work outs, I like how you have to be strategic in your approach to maximize your score.

What is your least favorite WOD/Exercise?

Overhead squats! Actually anything overhead.

What is your previous workout/athletic background?

I played rugby union up until my early 20s where shoulder and knee reconstructions put  an early end to contact sport. Rehab from the knee reconstruction first got me into CrossFit where the physio suggested joining as a route to rebuild strength as spending months in a knee brace.

What was your first experience at CrossFit Cayman like?

First experience was great, I had been out of CrossFit for around a year when I saw Pete running through industrial park, and a quick google and found that Crossfit Cayman had relocated and I attended a trial session the next week and haven’t looked back since.

What results have you seen since CrossFitting?

I have noticed I am slowly converting body fat to muscle, still some way to go but everything is trending in the right direction !

What do you do to get yourself through a tough workout (mental thoughts, tips and tricks)?

First thing is don’t be a hero, if RX is too hard then nothing wrong with scaling to make the workout suitable for you. Then remembering that it’s not the games and the only person you are really competing against is yourself, stick to your pace and don’t go out the gates too quickly and end up spending half the work out with your hands on your knees.

What's your favorite aspect about working out at CrossFit Cayman?

The people! Everyone is positive and happy to be there.

What advice do you have for someone thinking about joining CrossFit Cayman?

Don’t think about it just come and give it a try, Crossfit is for everybody.
